My letter headed "Confirmation & Communion" appeared in the "Spectator". I walked to Lambeth, & saw the Abp. about the Select Committee. Then I worked in preparing my own evidence. Armitage Robinson, who also is a witness, arrived, & I had some talk with him on the matter. We lunched at the Palace. Lang was there, & Bishop Willis.

Later Ella & I left town for Winchester, where we arrived about 6.30 p.m. Staying with us in the Headmaster's House were Lord & Lady Selborne, Fisher & his wife, & Wilson, a son of Canon W. of Worcester. To dinner came Storr & his wife. Both very pleasant folks. The Warden (>Sir Kenneth Muir Mackenzie) also dined. Parker–Smith was week–ending.
