3rd Sunday after Easter, May 3rd, 1914.
I received the Holy Communion in the Cathedral at 8 a.m.
After breakfast I motored to Sunnybrow, & there preached at a church parade of Territorials in aid of the 'Aged Miners' Homes Fund'. John Wilson read the 2nd lesson.
In the afternoon I motored to Newcastle, & addressed a large assembly of men in the Connaught Hall on "Lord's Day Observance". It was the 21st year of the afternoon service arranged by the Y.M.C.A.
