Tuesday, June 3rd, 1913.

We (i.e. Kitty, Ella, & I) attended the Trooping of the Colours, as the guests of Sir John & Lady Struthers. There was a considerable party of kindly Scots, including Wallace Williamson the Moderator of the Established Kirk. It was a very pretty spectacle, shown to perfection in the setting of trees, & under a blue sky. Then we lunched with Baddeley & his sister very pleasantly. Next we called on divers people – Miss Stanley, Captain Butler, Lady Margaret Graham, the Speaker, Harold (in his office) & Lady Ilbert. We had tea with Violet Markham, & much talk. She is vehement against my successor in S. Margaret's.We dined quietly at the Deanery, & then attended the Prime Minister's Reception at the India Office. I met a good many of my old acquaintance [sic]. All expressed with much appearance of sincerity great respect at my departure from London.
