Monday, April 7th, 1913.

I spent the whole morning, or at least the most part of it, in writing to Willie Murray an opinion on a rotten Theosophical book, written by some friend who is bitten with the modern craze for the revived Gnosticism!

Then I called on Mr Wilson in his office. He was speaking of Harry Phillpotts of Exeter, who combined a Stall at Durham with the bishoprick. He said that as a boy in Durham School he could well remember the old man being wheeled in to the daily services during the 3 weeks of his 'close residence', & there slumbering manifestly to the delight of the boys!

I wrote letters to

  1. Carissima
  2. Ernest Barnby
  3. Reggie Woodyear
  4. Angel Colenso
