Wednesday, April 2nd, 1913.

We all went to the opening of the Parochial Buildings in S. Margaret's Parish. I performed the function, and made a brief dull speech. Ella then opened the Sale of Work, & proceeded to squander money at the stalls. I perceive that Bazaars & [sic] will run away with more money even than subscriptions. Then I walked with Violet to the station, & bade her farewell. She bought a pleasing Jacobean table at Rushworth's, and presented it to us as a memento of her visit.

Ella's god–daughter, Penelope Webbe, came here for a visit with her nurse. Her foolish Suffragette parents are in Italy.

Mr Boden visited us on Saturday, the 5th April, and saw both Cathedral & Castle.
