I worked at my sermon–lecture all the morning but again with very little result.

The Psycho–therapeutic Committee met in the dining room. We had two witnesses, Lord Sandwich & Mr Boyd: the first was very entertaining but probably half insane. He gave us some extraordinary stories of the healings he had worked. The doctors examined him with care, but could get little from him. Boyd is a nice man, good–tempered & amiable but muddle–headed & mentally perverse.

We dined with Violet Markham. George Prothero & his wife, Mr Hills, Mr Jones, & a lady whose name escapes me formed the party.
