Sunday after Ascension, May 19th, 1912.
I went to St Margaret's at 8 a.m., & celebrated the Holy Communion. There were 29 communicants.
At 11 a.m. there was a good congregation, but I missed familiar faces, a fact which was perhaps explicable, as the Dean of Salisbury ( Page–Roberts) was preaching in the Abbey, & the Abp of York in the Chapel Royal. I preached an old sermon.
In the afternoon I attended service in the Abbey, & heard a very eloquent sermon from Boyd–Carpenter.
There was a good congregation at Evensong. I preached wearily.
Charlie Cunningham, Bob Bineham, Gilbert, & Linetta formed our party at supper.
