Leopold Amery & Adeliza Greenwood were married in St Margaret's. I officiated, and gave an address. Hicks, the Principal of the new Theological College at Cheshunt assisted. There was a numerous congregation including the Prime Minister, Lord Milner, Lord Strathcona, and a number of the Socii. The reception was held in the Westminster Palace Hotel.
On Friday, Nov: 18th I presided at the annual debate of the students of the Baptist Training College in Regent's Park. The subject was sufficiently absurd: "That the historian is of greater value to mankind than the poet"; The [sic] proposition was defeated by 63 to 57.
During the afternoon a great force of police was busily employed in resisting the Suffragettes, who with astonishing persistence endeavoured to force themselves into the presence of the Prime Minister. About a score were arrested, most being young women of some social position.
