3rd Sunday after Trinity, Hospital Sunday, June 12th, 1910.

I celebrated at 8 a.m. in St Margt's. 15 commts. The congregations both at Mattins & at Evensong were disappointing. Few of the seat–holders, & hardly any members were present: their places being taken up by Americans & other tourists. I begged hard for the Hospitals, but the collections were a few shillings short of £130. This wretched sum was considerably more than was collected at three services in the Abbey.

In the afternoon I went with Reggie to Hampstead, & there addressed a combined meeting of "Brotherhoods" in a Baptist Chapel. Old Dr Llewelyn Davies was there: & Bourchier from the Garden City read the Lesson.

On Saturday, the 18th of June, Uncle Charles died. He had been operated upon for appendicitis; and though he sustained the operation was unable to rally from the shock. On the day following, Sunday, the 19th of June, I made a brief reference to him at the end of my morning sermon. Inge & his wife stayed here. He preached in the Abbey on Sunday morning.

On Monday, the 20th of June, Dugald Malcolm was married in S. Margaret's to Miss Stopford. Gore officiated & I "assisted".

On Tuesday, the 21st June, I dined with Sir Kenneth. The Lord Chancellor, Dr Jackson, & Sir Cecil Smith were the other members of the party.

On Wednesday I went with my brethren to S. James's Palace, & joined in presenting an address to the King.

That evening I dined with Fleming, The Moderator, Dr Robertson, Dr Norman McLeod, Mr Johnson, Mr & Mrs Buchan, & Lady Francis Balfour were of the party.
