Monday, February 22nd, 1909.

I wrote to the Yale people enclosing the syllabus of my lectures; & also to Bp. Lawrence suggesting a date for our visit:

  • Christian Desborough Caröe.
  • 15 on May 13th.
  • Baptized in Old Chelsea Church.

The morning was wasted in a Chapter Meeting. Then I celebrated the marriage of Mr Robert A. Gardiner to Miss Loftus. After which I instructed the confirmation candidates until 6 p.m.

On Tuesday evening (Feb. 23rd) we dined with the Grahams. Lord George Hamilton was there, & talked of his Royal Commission. He spoke slightingly of the Salvation Army, but with appreciation of the Church Army. I took in to dinner an American lady named Phipps.
