Tuesday, November 20th, 1906.

Lady Selby, the wife of the late Speaker, was buried today. There was a Memorial Service in S. Margaret's conducted by me & the Archdeacon. By a singularly inappropriate choice, the special hymn was 'Onward Christian Soldiers'.

Immediately after the service there was a Committee Meeting of the Restoration Ctee at my House. Not one of them proffered a contribution toward the deficit of £207.

I had tea with Miss Hinds at Queen Anne's Mansions. Then I wrote begging letters to the Duke of Buccleugh, Lord Cheylesmore, Mr V. Cavendish, Sir Elliott Lees, & Sir John Aird.

Reichel arrived during the afternoon, & stayed the night.

Lois went to the House of Lords.
