Monday, October 17th, 1904.

I wrote 13 letters, including several on behalf of the Ellison fund. To raise £100 is no easy task, even when one is ready to give one fifth of it one's self.

I attended Evensong in the Abbey, and afterwards walked with Beeching. Then I went to Euston and met my wife returning from Scotland.
